Consumer confidence took a sharp turn for the worse as pre-Budget whispers loom large. ANZ-Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence index has plunged more than 8% in the last two weeks despite improving signs in the local job market. ANZ chief economist Warren Hogan says Budget concerns are overdone and Tuesday night should bring relief to a public expecting the worst.
