Under the blazing blue
Elizabeth Hayes |
I miss the days when waking up to the sun brought the promise of fun, watersports and picnics. Now as the sun rises over the Hakataramea Valley, I see my husband wince as it teasingly shines on the greenish-grey, struggling grasses of our once-fertile and lush dairy farm. As a 'reformed' townie, it's taken some time to realise the full impact of what I used to call “The Perfect Summer".
