About Graham Hodges

ANZ's deputy chief executive officer, Graham is a 23 year veteran of the bank and has previously run businesses in both Australia and New Zealand.

Business and commercial banking has been central to his banking career but his current role covers the broadest possible remit, from bank operations to customer relations, chairing several of the banks entities and engaging with investors, governments and regulators.

Graham has also worked in stock broking, with the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC and Commonwealth Treasury in Canberra. A Geelong AFL fan, keen sailor – his  'couta' boat is rumoured to be his favourite possession – he is highly saught after for trivia nights with his broad general knowledge.

Both equities and bonds fully priced so pay attention

Meeting investors, both debt and equity, on our recent roadshows through Europe and North America, there was a clear concern valuations had moved ahead of earnings. That of course leaves valuations vulnerable to unexpected events and what is particularly significant at this point in time is both positive and negative surprises could be a shock to the system.
