About Phil Chronican

Phil is the former chief executive of ANZ Australia. in this role he had oversight of ANZ's businesses across the country, including direct responsibility for retail and commercial banking in Australia. He also leads ANZ's retail segment globally. The Australian bank alone has around 10,000 staff and more than 6 million customers. A banker for more than 30 years, Phil is a Kiwi and avid cyclist. Cyclists, according to Phil, come in two forms: those who've had a decent prang and those still waiting. Phil has had major shoulder surgery… Prior to ANZ Phil was at Westpac Banking Corporation with roles in retail banking, capital markets, treasury, economics and strategy, including chief financial officer and head of institutional banking.
