bluenotes’ Cornell recognised with award

bluenotes has been recognised with another international award.

Managing editor Andrew Cornell was highly commended for his work on the changing nature of corporate social responsibility and business purpose by the respected 2017 StateStreet Institutional Press Awards, Asia Pacific.

It’s the first time a member of a corporate newsroom has been recognised in this manner.

Cornell’s award was in the “Best Editorial Comment” category and he shared the commendation with GlobalRMB’s Paolo Danse. Reuters’  Una Galani was named winner of the category.

" It’s the first time a member of a corporate newsroom has been recognised in this manner."

The judged work included Cornell’s “Social issues are shareholder issues”, written in the wake of the outcry following the release of letter signed by 30 Australia CEOs in support of marriage equality. Australia recently voted in favour of such legislation.

Also included was “Phi, Friedman and the purpose of business”, which discussed how business could respond to the rapidly decreasing trust from the general public in global ‘elites’.

The recognition sits alongside bluenotes awards from PRWeek, CommsCon, BeFest and the International Association for Business Communicators.
